The City Mission

Restoring Hope for Cleveland Families

Since 1910, The City Mission has been a cornerstone of compassion in Cleveland offering help and hope to individuals and families in crisis.

Through faith-based, long-term programs, The City Mission provides not just shelter, but the tools and support needed to achieve lasting stability. Their work addresses the root causes of homelessness and poverty, helping residents build the emotional, spiritual, and educational foundation they need to thrive.

Today, that mission continues through three core programs:

  • Crossroads Men’s Crisis Center: for men experiencing homelessness or crisis

  • Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center: for women and children seeking safety and stability

  • Rothstein Village Transitional Housing: Cleveland’s first and only transitional housing program for women and children

World Homeless Day

October 10 is World Homeless Day, a global call to awareness and action.

In a city where 35,000 children live below the poverty line, it’s a day to remember that every family deserves safety, stability, and hope. Organizations like The City Mission work year-round to make that a reality, one family at a time.

Halloween Costume Drive

This October, The City Mission is collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes for the children at Laura’s Home to ensure every child has the chance to experience the joy, imagination, and excitement of the season.

Donations can be dropped off at:
📍 5310 Carnegie Ave, Cleveland, OH 44103
🕐 Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Or, order directly from their Amazon Wishlist.

Every costume donated helps make Halloween a little brighter for a child who deserves to just be a kid again.

Family-Friendly Ways to Help

One of the best parts of The City Mission’s work? Families can actively be part of it together.

Here are a few ways to give back from home through their Volunteer In Place program:

  • Make bagged lunches, snack bags, or take home kits. Click here for more information.

  • Coordinate a food donation or material gifts drive. Visit their Amazon Wishlist for more information.
