Join us for Boo Bash, a FREE, family-friendly Halloween celebration open to the entire community! Children and students ages 0–17 and their families are invited to enjoy an evening of festive fun, including dinner, games, prizes, trick-or-treating, and a costume contest. Come in costume and enjoy a not-so-spooky evening at Trinity Cathedral! Dinner will be served from 5–7 p.m., with games and activities continuing until 8 p.m. Don’t miss the costume contest at 7:45 p.m.! Free parking is available in the lot at 2333 Prospect Ave. E. Bring the whole family in costume and join us on Thursday, October 29th from 5–7 PM for an evening of Halloween fun at our Halloween Boo-tique at Eton Chagrin Boulevard.

Kids can trick-or-treat at participating stores both inside and outside the mall while enjoying plenty of treats and seasonal excitement. Visitors can also look forward to exciting games, engaging activities, and a special appearance by the Woodmere Police Department.

Join us Saturday October 24th from 1-3pm for our Annual Trick or Treat Trail in Old Brooklyn's Ben Franklin Community Garden (1905 Spring Rd, Cleveland, OH 44144).

The event is completely FREE (food, activities, & all)!

Come enjoy popcorn, apple cider, games, crafts, & music while you explore the Trick or Treat Trail that weaves through Ben Franklin Community Garden. Along the trail you'll find treat stations hosted by local Old Brooklyn organizations and maybe meet a neighbor or 2! Half of the trail is a paved path while the other half follows a trail with wood chips at the back of the garden.

Parking will be available in the Ben Franklin Elementary School lot in front of the garden & on the street.

Calling all ghouls and goblins, princesses and superheroes—Crocker Park’s annual Tricks & Treats Halloween celebration is back and better than ever!  Join us on Saturday, October 24 from 12–3pm for an afternoon of free spooky fun, sweet treats, and family-friendly entertainment you won’t want to miss.

Our Tricks & Treats event is perfect for families looking to enjoy the Halloween spirit in a safe, walkable, and exciting outdoor setting. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume and bring their candy buckets for trick-or-treating throughout the property. Participating stores and vendors will have pumpkin decals in their windows—just follow the trail of pumpkins and collect goodies (while supplies last)!

In addition to trick-or-treating, there will be plenty of interactive activities to keep little ones entertained, including:

•  Colorful Chalk Zones where kids can unleash their creativity

•  A fan-favorite Pet Costume Contest

•  Music, festive vendors, and plenty of photo-worthy moments throughout the park

October will be fantastic, thanks to two free in-store events featuring Kwik Stix painters! Kids use imagination and creativity to design enchanting works of art they can display at home. These are free, walk-in events held at all locations during the hours listed. No reservations needed.

Skeletonville is it less scary Halloween event for younger children. The children and adults are invited to come in costume. The price is $3/person and the children can trick-or-treat at all the houses and buildings. There will be fun, food and lots of photo opportunities.

Our annual Family Fun Fall Walk returns – rain or shine! Join us for a walk around the neighborhood from hub to hub for FREE family fun including crafts, games, and of course treats – no trick, please!

P.A.L.S. Sensory Friendly Movie programs are especially for people on the autism spectrum (and their families), or for anyone who prefers this type of movie watching environment.  Most movies take place in our fully accessible state-of-the-art Auditorium.  Seating begins 15 minutes before the start time.  Fidget objects will be available during the movie. Registration is requested; please register once for your group and include the total number of people in your group. You are welcome to bring lunches and snacks!

Oktoberfest at the chalet

Make memories with family and friends this fall season while enjoying Cleveland Metroparks second annual Oktoberfest. Family friendly activities include live Polka music, dancing, games, fall photo areas, hayrides, biergarten, Cleveland Metroparks Food Truck with German food offerings and more. 

Hayrides are tractor-drawn and are offered on a first-come, first served basis and leave approximately every half hour. Wagons can be covered and operate rain or shine. Our side-load wagons are ADA accessible. In addition to public hayrides, several private and group opportunities are available. See below for more information.

Terese will share her newest book, Skelly T. Bones and Nami Do Yoga, released October 1. Children and their grown-ups will be invited to stretch, pose, imagine, and move along with Skelly T. Bones and Nami as the story comes to life.

Terese’s playful “movement poetry” combines storytelling and big-body movement to make reading an active and joyful experience. No yoga experience is necessary—just come ready to listen, move, laugh, and have fun together!

Sensory-Friendly Saturday events offer adaptations to meet diverse sensory-processing needs every third Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Guests on the autism spectrum, people experiencing dementia, and those of all ages who have intellectual or developmental disabilities are invited to participate in a calming museum experience with less stimulation in a section of the museum’s galleries before they open to the public—reducing crowds, noise, and distractions.

Guests can explore the galleries at their own pace, relax in the designated “calming corner,” and share this time and space with open-minded members of the community. 

The Remember Balloons is a moving dance-theatre production based on the award-winning children’s book by Jessie Oliveros. Young James imagines that everyone carries their memories inside balloons, but when his grandfather begins losing his, James discovers that the stories Grandpa has shared can live on through him. Through movement, storytelling, and imaginative visuals, this intergenerational production offers families a warm and hopeful way to explore memory loss, aging, caregiving, and the power of shared stories.

The Thorn offers audiences a unique theatrical experience in a show that has been hailed as “Cirque meets ‘The Passion’” thanks to its compelling mix of drama, music, dance, martial arts, aerial acrobatics, engaging narrative storytelling, and timeless spiritual perspectives. The story spans from creation to the formation of the early church.
