Fall in Northeast Ohio can get very “we have eight weekends and apparently need to visit 37 pumpkin patches” very quickly. Pick your kind of day, grab the fall list, or scroll until something sounds good. There is absolutely no prize for doing all of it.

Because sometimes you want the whole pumpkin-patch production, and sometimes you want one donut, a pretty walk and to be home before nap.

Fall Farms Around Northeast Ohio
Some are full-day productions. Some are a 90-minute donut-and-pumpkin situation. Scan a farm for the useful stuff, then check the farm’s own update before you leave.
About the 2026 details: Dates and prices are current where venues have published them. If they have not, I say so. Crop availability and weather can change fast, especially for pick-your-own.

Big farms, big activity lists, big “this is the plan” energy.

Half day+ · Weekends + select Fridays
A full-on fall destination with 20+ attractions, including a seven-acre corn maze, Super Slide, jumping pillow, hayrides and themed weekends.
GOOD FOR: One big, high-energy fall day where the farm is the plan.
2026: Pumpkin Village runs weekends Sept. 12–Nov. 1, plus select Fun Fridays. Fun Fridays are $15, and themed weekends are $18. Age 2 and under is free.
WORTH KNOWING: This is a big footprint and mostly outdoors, so plan on several hours of walking and activity. Valley of the Dinosaurs is a separate paid add-on.

Half day+ · Cheaper midweek
This is the “fine, we’re doing FALL today” option, with 50+ attractions including mazes, hayrides, animals, pedal carts, jumping and play areas, and pumpkin picking.
GOOD FOR: Kids who want all the things and a family ready to make the farm the main event.
2026: Open Sept. 2 to Oct. 31. Admission is $15 Wed–Thu and $21–23 Fri–Sun. Age 2 and under is free.
WORTH KNOWING: Weekend tickets are online only and can sell out. Ramseyer says the farm is stroller- and wheelchair-friendly.
Apples first, activities second
You actually want an orchard day, but the kids will probably need something to do after apple number three.

Half day · U-pick weekends
A nice middle ground between “we picked apples” and “we entered a fall theme park,” with U-pick apples plus 20+ attractions.
GOOD FOR: Families who care about apple picking but still want plenty for younger kids to do afterward.
2026: Fall Festival runs weekends Sept. 5–Nov. 1, 10am–6pm. Admission is $12.95; ages 3 and under and adults over 72 are free. U-pick apples are available on listed weekends in September and October.
FROM OUR VISIT: I saw plenty of strollers, but I’d still choose babywearing if you can. The restroom trailer is near the front, so make that stop before heading farther in.
WORTH KNOWING: The Farm Market is open daily and does not require festival admission, so you can still grab pre-picked apples, cider and donuts without paying for the activity side.

2-4 hours · Weekday option
Classic farm fun with slides, pedal tractors, a corn maze, corn sandbox, play buildings and wagon rides. Family Fun Fest is geared toward preschool through sixth grade.
GOOD FOR: Younger kids, East Side families, or anyone who wants a cheaper weekday option.
2026: Family Fun Fest runs Sept. 16 to Nov. 1. Admission is $8 Mon-Thu and $12 Fri-Sun. Age 2 and under is free.
WORTH KNOWING: Family Fun Fest and U-pick are at 8765 Mulberry Rd. The year-round market and bakery are at 11414 Caves Rd. Strollers are allowed, but may not fit on wagons.
Shorter, cheaper, easier to pair
The “one fall thing + maybe lunch” tier. A very respectable amount of fall.

Historically one of the better-value West Side fall stops, with more traditional farm-market energy than giant destination-festival energy.
GOOD FOR: A short, low-commitment outing you can pair with lunch, a park or literally just going home.
2026: Current fall-festival details have not been posted yet. In past years, weekends included a free wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and a $1 corn maze, but I’m not treating that as 2026 information until the farm confirms it.
WORTH KNOWING: Call 440-937-5155 before you go to confirm current festival dates, wagon and maze pricing, and access.

1-2 hours · Easy to pair with CVNP
An easy dose of fall without committing the entire day. The three-acre corn maze takes about 30 minutes, and the market handles the pumpkins, apples, cider and other fall goods.
GOOD FOR: Families already headed to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, or anyone who wants one classic fall stop and room for something else.
2026: The maze runs Sept. 19 to Oct. 31, daily from 10am to 7pm. It costs $6 and includes the Spinning Barn. Age 3 and under is free. The market is free to enter.
WORTH KNOWING: Szalay’s is cash or check, with an ATM on site.

1-3 hours · Pay only for what you do
One of the more flexible pricing setups. Parking, the pumpkin area and food vendors have no gate fee, so you can pay only for the activities your family actually wants.
GOOD FOR: Families who want options without automatically buying the giant all-inclusive experience.
2026: Pumpkin Pandemonium runs Sept. 26 to Oct. 25. Individual activities are $6, with an all-access option also available.
WORTH KNOWING: Wed-Fri is a lighter version with pumpkins, products, the maze and scavenger activities, but no hayride or Kidzone. Weekends have the full activity lineup.
Little-kid wins + easier logistics
Shorter activities, obvious fun and one option that can survive Cleveland weather.

3-4 hours · Best rain + accessibility backup
Not a pumpkin patch, which is exactly why it belongs here. You get animals, paved paths, real restrooms, barns, indoor exhibits and seasonal programming.
GOOD FOR: Little kids, strollers, accessibility needs, or a forecast you do not entirely trust.
2026: Open Tue-Sun 9am to 5pm. Admission is $9 adults, $8 age 60+, $7 ages 2-11, and under 2 is free. Paul Revere’s Run corn maze is included with admission Sept. 8 to Oct. 11.
WORTH KNOWING: This is the most weather-proof option on the list. Paved paths, indoor spaces and actual restrooms are doing a lot of work here.

A fall-festival stop with the bonus of a market, bakery and food and drink options on site, which can make the logistics of the whole outing easier.
GOOD FOR: Families who want activities plus somewhere to eat without another car-seat negotiation.
2026: Pumpkin Festival runs Saturdays + Sundays Sept. 19–Oct. 31, plus bonus Friday Oct. 9. Check the live ticket page for current pricing.
WORTH KNOWING: The larger Red Wagon setup gives the grown-ups something too. The market, bakery and brewery/taproom are all part of the property.

More Old West fall festival than traditional orchard, with pony rides, hayrides, animals, slides, kids activities, face painting, pumpkin painting and shows included with admission.
GOOD FOR: Preschool and early elementary kids who want obvious, hands-on fun.
2026: Old West Pumpkin Fest runs weekends Sept. 26 to Nov. 1, noon to 5pm. Admission is $15, and age 2 and under is free.
WORTH KNOWING: Rockin’ R also runs the nighttime Spooky Ranch. For the daytime family outing, you want Old West Pumpkin Fest. Pony riders have a 100 lb weight limit.

1-2 hours · Low-key orchard + market
A more traditional orchard and market experience with pick-your-own apples and grapes instead of a giant lineup of attractions.
GOOD FOR: Families who want the seasonal part without the festival production.
2026: Picking availability changes throughout the season.
WORTH KNOWING: Eddy specifically asks visitors to call and press option 2 to confirm what is available before heading out.

1-2 hours · Traditional PYO + separate market
A working-farm pick-your-own experience, with the separate Sage’s Apples market nearby for cider, apples and local products.
GOOD FOR: Families looking for something smaller and more traditional than a festival.
2026: Hail badly affected the PYO side this year. U-pick fruit is limited, there are no U-pick grapes, and pumpkins and squash are the fall focus.
WORTH KNOWING: There’s no entrance fee; picking is priced by basket/item. Wagon rides are offered on select Saturdays. Check the live calendar before driving out.

2-4 hours · The maze is the point
This is the specialty pick for families who genuinely want to spend time in a corn maze, not just tack a ten-minute one onto another outing.
GOOD FOR: Bigger kids who would willingly spend real time wandering through corn.
2026: Weekends beginning Sept. 11. Admission is $14 ages 3–64, $8 ages 65+, and ages 2 and under are free. Fri 6–11pm, Sat 1–11pm, Sun noon–6pm
WORTH KNOWING: Current sources conflict on the final weekend, so confirm the closing date before planning for late October.

2-3 hours · Traditional pumpkin-farm day
A classic pumpkin-farm outing with a pumpkin patch, hayrides, corn maze, petting zoo and play area, without the scale of the mega-farms.
GOOD FOR: Families who want enough activities to make it an outing without needing 50 of them.
2026: Open daily beginning Sept. 12. Admission is $12, or $10 Mon–Thu; ages 3 and under are free. Wagon rides run weekends in September and daily beginning Oct. 1, weather permitting.
WORTH KNOWING: Kingsway directs visitors to Facebook for current hours, admission and daily operating updates, so check there before you go.
Traditional farms + specialty picks
For families who want more actual farm, a serious maze or something a little less produced.

3 Easy Fall Day Ideas
Ideas, not assignments. Skip the second stop if everyone is over it. This is supposed to be fun.
CVNP: farm + leaves
Heritage OR Szalay’s, then one short trail or waterfall. Food in Peninsula only if everyone still likes each other.
3-5 hours · flexible budget
Both farms + three trails + a waterfall is an itinerary hostage situation.
East Side little-kid day
Farmpark for animals and the corn maze, then Squire’s Castle only if there is still gas in the tank.
3-5 hours · $
Bathrooms and indoor backup are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
Go big
Ramseyer OR Mapleside. Pick one. Let it be the whole day.
